Why did I get a notice my email “pending deactivation”?
To help manage the hundreds of millions of emails, Sparklight has an inactive email account policy. Email accounts that have not been logged into within the past 90 days are considered inactive. These accounts are put into a pending deactivation status for 30 days, after which the email account is deactivated and all email, content, and features associated with the email account are permanently deleted.
How do I keep my account from entering an "inactive" status and becoming deactivated?
The account simply needs to be logged into webmail at least once in a 90-day period. Account synchronization is not considered a log-in in this case.
How do I get an email account removed from pending deactivation?
Simply log in HERE with the username in question, and the email account will be removed from pending deactivation.
How will I know if an email address is considered inactive and pending deactivation?
An email will be sent to the account. If the email address is not the primary email address for the account, the email notice will be sent to the primary account holder email address instead.
If my email address is deactivated, can I retrieve emails and any related content from the email account?
No. Once an account has been deleted, the emails, files, and all content associated with the email address are deleted and unrecoverable.
What happens to emails which are sent to my pending deactivation status?
Emails will still be available in your inbox until the account is deactivated and closed.
What happens to emails which are sent to my deactivated email address?
The emails will not be delivered and the sender will receive an "undeliverable" message.
