As new generations of Amazon Fire TV Sticks are introduced, older models may eventually become outdated and no longer compatible with Sparklight TV and the latest streaming apps. Devices that are no longer supported can experience interruptions or lose access to key features.
To help you check whether your Fire TV Stick is still supported, follow the simple steps below to identify your model and/or generation.
Using the model number
If you can access it, check the label on the side of your Fire TV Stick to find your model number. Compare it to the compatibility chart below to determine whether your device is supported.
Using the settings menu
If you're unable to find the model number of your device, you can still identify which version you're using by checking the device settings. To do so:
1. Open Settings: Access the settings menu on your Fire TV.
2. Go to My Fire TV: Navigate to the 'My Fire TV' section within settings.
3. Select About: Choose the 'About' option.
4. Identify Device Type: Look for the 'Device Type' listed under 'About'. This will tell you the specific model and generation of your Fire TV. For example, you might see 'Fire TV Stick 4K (1st Generation)'.
