How do I setup and/or retrieve my voice mail messages?
PLEASE NOTE: Voice mail is only available to those customers who subscribe to it as part of their phone package.
Setting up your voice mail is simple and only takes a couple of minutes. Here's how:
Activation Instructions
Step 1: From home phone - Dial *55
Your default password will be 0000 unless the password has been reset, in which case it will be 123456.
Step 2: System will start mini tutorial and offer the following:
- Change password (Password must be 4 - 19 digits)
- Record name
- Record personal greeting
Note: You have two minutes available to record your greeting message.
How to check messages
When there is a Voice mail waiting to be checked there will be an intermittent/stutter dial tone when the receiver is picked up or if the phone may have a red flashing light if it is equipped with a "voice mail waiting" indicator.
NOTE: A total of 100 voicemail messages can be stored on the Sparklight Voicemail service. Voicemails are not deleted automatically.
To check messages from home:
Step 1: Dial *55
Step 2: Enter Password and press "#".
To check messages away from home:
Step 1: Dial home number
Step 2: When the Voice Mail greeting starts playing, press *
Step 3: Enter password and press #
All methods of checking messages will lead to an identical Main Menu (As shown below)
- Review new messages - press 1
- Record new message - press 2
- Review other messages - press 3
- Change personal options - press 4
Ring Time
You can adjust the amount of rings before the voicemail answers the phone by logging into your Customer Portal.
Voicemail Auto-Login
This feature allows you to access your voicemail using your Sparklight telephone without entering your voicemail password. NOTE: You may hear "Welcome to your Com Pilot Voice portal..." prior to hearing voicemail menu options.
Notes: You can reset the password to default through the Web Portal. If you have Call Privacy set to "Anonymous", *55 will not work without having to enter your mailbox number and password. You can temporarily disable Call Privacy on a per-call basis by dialing *82 before dialing *55 to access your voice mail.
