I am receiving a "REF" code on my digital receiver; what does it mean?
"REF" codes are basically error codes designed to point to where a problem exists in the digital receiver.
S0007 and S0008
If you are seeing this Ref Code on a single or multiple channels, please call our support department at 877-692-2253 and provide the technician with the specific error code you are seeing.
S000B, S0011, S0012, S0100, S0125, S0200, S0300, S0400, S0500, S0600, S0700, S0800, S0900, S0A00
Often times a "REF" code can be cleared by power-cycling your receiver. To do so, please do the following:
Step 1: Unplug the power cord from the back of the receiver.
Step 2: Wait 15 seconds.
Step 3: Plug the power cord back in.
If the problem persists, a long power-cycle can often fix it. The steps are as follows:
Step 1: Unplug the power cord.
Step 2: Wait 2 full minutes. During the two minute wait, please be sure to check behind all TV and cable equipment (cable box, TV, VCR, DVD, stereo receivers, et cetera) and the coaxial cable at the wall outlet for any loose or damaged connectors.
Step 3: Plug the power cord back in.
If this does not resolve your issues, more than likely there is an issue which requires the assistance of Sparklight Technical Support. Technical Support can be reached at 877-692-2253.
